I hope everyone enjoyed March and is staying healthy—I know lots of bugs were going around, and lots of travel was planned for people. I had a pretty eventful March—I caught the bug that was going around, took a quick overnight trip to the North Fork to visit our favorite vineyard, and did some springtime refreshing on our apartment.

Spring has also been springing at the salon—we’ve done a little sprucing up both inside and out, including the garden. There are little upgrades in the client experience I hope you’ll notice next time you’re here. We went to the hair show at the Javitz Center and got the creative battery recharged while learning about all the latest trends, techniques, and technology in my industry.

We also installed new water filters at the shampoo bowls, and I’m already noticing a difference in clients’ hair quality—feel free to pick my brain at your next appointment about in-shower water filters to replicate the results at home.

Wella has come out with new shades in their 10-minute express color line—meaning more clients can take advantage of the incredible time savings with the same gorgeous results you’re already receiving.

Also improved: Brazilian Blowout Free—a 12-week, formaldehyde-free smoothing treatment now available at the salon. If you’re new to keratin treatments or curious about switching from a traditional version, let’s talk.

The skincare-ification of the hair industry is real. The “glass skin” trend from last year is now coming for hair with the new “glass hair” movement—think sleek, reflective, ultra-healthy shine. There are in-salon treatments and take-home products to help achieve the look. That same skincare thinking is also extending to the scalp—the root of healthy hair. Think: a facial for your scalp.
