Originally from Lakeland, FL, Fiona first started doing hair & makeup for theater as a young teen while studying cosmetology. By 17 she was fully licensed and started her career as a hairdresser. Before relocating to NYC in 2007, she worked as head hairstylist, esthetician, and salon manager in various salons throughout Florida and on cruise ships in the Caribbean.

Once she settled into Brooklyn, she quickly built a reputation of unmatched knowledge, talent, and client satisfaction as she forged her business as an independent hairdresser, outgrowing a few salon studios over time. This led to the launch of her latest salon, Fiona Hair NYC, a hidden gem with a fun relaxed vibe located at the joining point of 3 fabulous Brooklyn neighborhoods:
Carroll Gardens, Gowanus and Redhook.
At her core, she strives to design real world friendly hair and give each client a wearable, beautiful, cohesive, achievable and environmentally sustainable look to help

What does this mean?
Green Circle Salons is a special recycling/repurposing program that ensures hair, foils, color tubes, plastics, papers, and chemicals are diverted out of our landfills and water systems. That is 90-95% of our salons waste! That’s right! Even the hair we sweep from the floor is repurposed. Hair can be used to help clean up oil spills, as a gardening tool to keep away rabbits, deer, etc. as well as a natural fertilizer as it decomposes and we are proud to be a part of this Green Initiative to Revolutionize the Industry.

You'll find us behind the green door in the basement level of 488 Smith St, between West 9th St & Garnet St. Conveniently located at the Smith and 9th St stop of the F and G lines, the Citi Bike docking station, and the bus stop for the B61 and B57 bus routes. There is very limited street parking in the area. If you are driving please leave plenty of time especially during the times of local alternate side parking which is:
